Cream butter or margarine and powdered sugar. Add eggs and brandy as well as cornflour, flour, baking powder and salt.
Mix everything into a smooth dough, place between foil and roll out flat. Using a round cookie cutter, cut out 3 cm diameter cookies from the dough and place on a baking sheet lined with baking paper. Bake in a preheated oven at 175°C for about 17 minutes. The cookies must be light in color.
Now heat the remaining 4 ingredients in a saucepan on the lowest heat setting for about 1/2 hour, stirring constantly to make a thick mixture. Be careful – it burns easily. Spread it on one cookie at a time and put another cookie on top as a lid. Finally – after the filling has dried a bit – dust with powdered sugar.
The quantity is enough for about 150 pieces.
