Before mixing the ingredients, you need to pour hot water over the walnuts in a bowl to help you peel them.
When the nuts are peeled, chop the nuts and chocolate into small pieces. Preheat the oven to 175°C. Mix (thoroughly!!)
the butter with the powdered sugar, brown sugar and egg (preferably in a mixer). To this mixture now add the flour and mix for 2 minutes with the machine.
Add the nuts and chocolate and mix again. Place the finished cookie dough on a baking tray lined with baking paper in portions using a teaspoon (the smaller the portions, the more cookies you get and therefore the shorter the baking time). Do not place the cookies too close to each other on the baking paper, otherwise they will stick together in the oven during baking, as they will spread. Turn the preheated oven down to 160°C and bake the cookies on the middle rack until golden brown (about 12 minutes but the baking time depends on the size of the cookies!!!)
Take them out and let them cool for 5 minutes so they get nice and crispy. If you don’t like walnuts or chocolate, you can use other nuts or even raisins or other dried fruit.
