Preheat the oven to 200°C. Coat a small ovenproof dish with oil.

Wash and dice the tomatoes and put them in a bowl. Peel the onions and dice them as well, add them to the tomato cubes.

Wash the red peppers, cut them lengthwise, remove the seeds, then also cut them into small pieces and also add them to the bowl. Crumble the feta, add to the bowl. Peel the garlic and squeeze it to it, mix everything together and pour it into the dish.


Mix olive oil with lemon juice, salt and thyme to make a marinade and pour over the mixture in the mold. Wash and seed the green peppers, cut them into rings, place them on top of the vegetable mixture in the mold. Lastly, grate the kefalotiri over the top, then cover the mold and place in the preheated oven. Bake the bougourdi until the cheese is well melted.

Alternatively, the appetizer can be prepared in aluminum foil. This simplifies portioning and can then also be baked on the grill. Individualize the appetizer by adding herbs. Thyme is one recommendation. Oregano and/or mint are also conceivable.
