Wash the potatoes and cook in water for 25 – 30 minutes. Finely dice the onions and garlic. Heat the oil, fry the minced meat in it, add the onions and garlic. Add tomato paste and season everything with salt and pepper.
Add tomatoes with juice, bring to a boil while stirring and simmer for about 10 minutes. Chop the tomatoes in the process.
Season the mince sauce with salt and Tabasco. Drain the potatoes, rinse in cold water and drain.
Peel potatoes and cut in half lengthwise. Place in a large greased baking dish and spread the mince sauce over the potatoes. Mix sour cream and half of the cheese and spread on top of potatoes. Sprinkle the rest of the cheese on top. Bake in a preheated oven (top/bottom heat: 200°C, gas mark 3) for about 20 minutes.
