Since the soup is pureed later anyway, it is enough if they are only coarsely chopped.
Then add the broccoli and the broth. The whole thing should then simmer with the lid closed for 15 minutes. When the broccoli is cooked soft, add the cream cheese. Then the pot can be removed from the heat and the soup pureed and seasoned with pepper and salt. And then the delicious soup is almost ready. If you prefer the soup thicker, you can thicken it with a little cornstarch mixed in water or cream. Add some cream and coarsely ground pepper and you can serve the soup.
