Knead all ingredients into a smooth dough and shape into a round.
Cover and let rest for about 10 minutes. Flatten the dough and tear off 8 pieces.
Flour each two flat pieces well and place on top of each other. Roll up so that there is still an open slit at the bottom. Place this side on a floured kitchen towel and let rise, covered, for 1 hour.
Preheat the oven to 220°C and place a grease pan with water in the oven. Place the dough pieces, bottom side up, on a baking sheet with baking paper. Put the tray in the oven, after about 10 minutes reduce the temperature to 200°C and bake for about another 20 minutes.
The rolls should split open a bit when slit.
