Preheat the oven to 190°C. Grease a 30 cm loaf pan. Put the flour, sugar, baking powder and salt in the mixing bowl of a food processor.
Add the butter in flakes on top. Blend until crumbly. Add nuts, dates, milk and eggs in alternating batches until everything is blended. Pour the batter into the pan. Bake for about 90 minutes, test with chopsticks. Let the cake cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then remove from the pan and cool completely on a cooling rack.
