Place the spinach leaves in a microwave-safe container (with lid) and microwave at 600 watts for approx. 7 min.
In the meantime, cut or pluck the dumpling into bite-sized pieces. Remove the spinach from the microwave and add salt and pepper. Place the spinach in a small baking dish and sprinkle the dumpling pieces on top.
If you like, you can sprinkle some nutmeg on the dumpling.
Now put the dish in the microwave at the same wattage for another 3 min.
Then crack the egg over the top and microwave the dish again for 3 minutes.
