Finely dice onions and garlic. Cut bell bell pepper into small cubes.
Heat fat in a large pot and sauté onion and garlic until translucent.
Add sauerkraut and sauté for approx. 5 min.
while stirring. Add paprika cubes and tomato paste and sauté briefly while stirring. Deglaze with broth, bring to a boil, cover and simmer for approx. 30 min. Cut sausage into thin slices, add to soup and heat. Season to taste with spices and sugar. Sprinkle chive rolls on the soup and serve with sturdy farmhouse bread.
