Mix the soft butter with sugar, eggs, flour, rum and cinnamon until smooth.
Get the ice cream cone maker hot and brush it with a little oil using a pastry brush. Then pour a good teaspoon of batter at a time onto the hot bottom iron, close the lid and bake the waffles in 20 to 25 seconds each. Carefully remove the finished waffles from the iron and toss them onto a cold surface.
Let cool flat or shape into waffle cones as needed. Note: The hot iron only needs to be coated with oil once. This is only to prevent the first waffle from burning.
Therefore, the first waffle will not be very tasty and may be discarded as ‘scrap’ because it contains too much oil. Total baking time for all waffles is 1 to 1 Β½ hours. The recipe will roughly yield 50 waffles. It definitely comes out many many waffles!
