Kohlrabi in Basil Cream

🍓 Ingredients

380 milliliters Vegetable broth
3 Kohlrabi
1 pot Basil
1 small Onion
1 tablespoon Flour
1 Garlic clove
1 tablespoon Margarine
150 grams Cheese e.g. sliced Gouda
200 milliliters Cream
  Salt and pepper

🍽 Instructions

Peel the kohlrabis, cut them in half and – at a distance of about 0.5 cm – make deep cuts.

Boil in the broth for 15 minutes, then let cool. Do not pour away the broth!

Fill the incisions of the kohlrabis with basil leaves, chop the rest of the leaves. Place the kohlrabis in an ovenproof dish and cover each half with half a slice of cheese. Bake at 180°C for about 15 minutes.

Chop the garlic and onion and sauté in the margarine. Sprinkle flour on top and continue to sauté. Deglaze with cream and 200 ml broth. Simmer for 10 minutes. Stir the remaining basil and cheese into the sauce, season with salt and pepper and serve the kohlrabis in it.

Serve with potatoes. The quantity is enough for 3 people with potatoes, without any side dishes for two people.
