🍓 Ingredients

1/2 liter Water
8 Leeks
1 pinch Nutmeg
1/2 teaspoons Salt
60 grams Flour
50 grams Margarine
50 grams Grated cheese (e.g. Emmental Parmesan or similar)
8 slices Cooked ham
1 pinch Nutmeg
1 pinch Salt and pepper
2 tablespoons Margarine

🍽 Instructions

Clean leeks and steam in a little salted water with 1 pinch of nutmeg for approx. 5 – 10 minutes until firm to the bite.

Take out and let drain.

Collect the cooking water and keep warm.

For the sauce, melt 50 g margarine in a pot. Stir in flour, then gradually add the collected cooking water. Whisk until smooth and bring to a boil. Then stir in the cheese and season with salt, pepper and nutmeg.

Wrap the ham slices around the leek and fry them all around in 2 tablespoons of heated margarine. Serve with the cheese sauce. Serve with mashed potatoes. A very simple recipe that is quick to prepare and also goes down well with children.
