Melt the dark chocolate in a water bath and soak the dates in hot water. Finely grind the almonds and mix with flour, baking powder and salt. Add the dates, after dumping the water, and mash to a homogeneous sticky mass. Stir in the chocolate.
While stirring, add enough milk to make a slushy dough.
If desired, add chopped walnuts, dried cranberries or baking cocoa to the batter.
Pour the batter into a baking dish lined with baking paper or into muffin tins and bake in the oven at 175 °C for half an hour.
Makes approx. 12 brownies.
