Preheat oven to 200 degrees (convection oven). Lightly toast bread and butter to taste. Spread Parma ham on the toast slices.
Wash and quarter the pear and cut out the core. Cut pear into thin slices and spread on toast slices.
Season with pepper (preferably freshly ground).
Slice Parmesan into thin slices and spread over the toast slices. Bake at 200 degrees (convection oven) for about 4 minutes until the Parmesan melts.
Then, depending on taste and desired browning of the cheese, place under the oven broiler for about 1 more minute.
