Cook the finely grated pumpkin flesh in boiling salted water for a little 1-2 minutes, strain and let cool. Cream butter, vanilla sugar and sugar until very fluffy, stir in eggs one at a time, mix flour with baking powder and stir into the batter alternately with the milk. Finally, fold in the pumpkin flesh. Heat the waffle iron, grease it and bake the waffles until golden brown.
Serve sprinkled with powdered sugar.
