Peel onion and garlic cloves and cut into small cubes. Olives cut into slices. Mix everything with breadcrumbs, eggs and minced meat.
Season vigorously with salt and pepper. Form balls from the meat mixture, then flatten them a little so that ‘patties’ are formed. Fry in a pan, then remove and keep warm. Cut the tomatoes into slices and fry them in the drippings. Season with salt and pepper. Serve with the meat patties and garnish with basil.
